RAV Anima – Chord & Celtic Minor

The RAV Anima is a completely new concept within the RAV family. What makes it special are five central reeds, each of which plays a full chord: F major, G major, A minor, C major, and D minor —some of the most commonly used chords in modern music. Striking a central tongue causes the entire chord to sound.

Surrounding the five chords are nine additional tongues, which are tuned to the Celtic minor scale . All notes are perfectly tuned to one another and harmonize beautifully. This allows you to improvise freely without having to worry about playing the wrong notes.

By slowly alternating between chords, a beautiful harmonic foundation is created upon which both simple and complex melodies can be played. In this way, the RAV Anima opens up a wide range of possibilities for improvisation, meditation, composition, and musical experimentation.

The full potential of this unique design is still waiting to be discovered. Thanks to its built-in chords, the RAV Anima can be played almost like a guitar—only like a guitar from another world.
