In Japan, the delicate tinkling of bells is considered a lucky charm that carries wishes to heaven. This wind bell is produced using a casting process and then carefully finished by hand so that each piece has its own clear and harmonious sound. In combination with the cream-colored paper, which moves gently in the wind, a calm, almost meditative atmosphere is created - a quiet moment of deceleration in everyday life.
The Nousaku foundry was founded in Takaoka in 1916 and is now run by the fourth generation. For over a hundred years, objects have been created there from brass and bronze using traditional sand casting techniques. Craftsmanship and the natural properties of the materials are at the heart of the design. Each product is finished by hand and brings out the individual beauty of the metal.
