At Universe Gong in Portugal, each gong is made entirely by hand. The manufacturing process combines traditional craftsmanship, precise hearing and the power of fire.

A specially selected metal alloy is heated and shaped by repeated, careful hammering. This not only creates the shape, but also the unique sound with its deep tones and overtones.

The tuning is also done by hand until a harmonious and powerful sound is created. The visible traces of fire and manual work make each gong a unique instrument.
