This monochord is available in three different tunings.
MONOCHORD TUNING - TAMBURA TUNING - TRIPLE TUNING
Please select one of these tunings when ordering.

These monochords are often used for sound meditation and improvisation, in kindergartens and retirement homes.

All monochords are identical as follows

  • The monochord is oiled
  • 21 strings
  • Dimensions: 60x24x9 cm
  • Weight: approx. 2 kilograms
  • Body: solid beech
  • Birch wood top, layer-glued with rosette (flower of life)
  • Including tuning key, operating instructions, transport box

Special advantages/strengths of all monochords

  • The birch plywood top makes it robust and stable
  • Stable tuning even with fluctuations in humidity and temperature
  • Can also be used as a musical instrument for sound tours or concerts

The handy-sized monochord is easy to transport, making it particularly suitable for mobile use in music and sound therapy. It can be placed on the body (stomach, legs, feet or back) or held in the arm. The solid birch top provides a full sound. The tones are very perceptible due to the rich, deep sound. The resonance chamber means that the monochord can also be played louder. It is therefore also very suitable for a sound journey.

MONOCHORD TUNING (ZMB1G)
All strings on the same note d and with polished bass bronze strings can be ordered in different basic tones. Our standard model can be tuned to c, c sharp or d.
TAMBURA TUNING (ZMB2G)
Tambura tone sequence: a-d'-d'-d is set several times in succession. Various thick strings, which produce the harmonic higher notes in the fifth and octave in addition to the lowest fundamental tone, conjure up a carpet of sound rich in overtones when played. Depending on the basic mood, this has either a relaxing or invigorating effect. Depending on your preference, the strings can be tuned up to one tone lower.
THREE-TONE TUNING (ZMB3G)
Triad tone sequence: 7 x c, 7x g, 7x c. The pitches arranged in a block offer many variations when playing. They are also very easy to play in pairs. The strings can be tuned up to one tone higher depending on your preferences.
