First Hawk A - Poplar

The First Hawk flute in the key of A minor (440 Hz) is handmade from a single piece of poplar wood (also known as yellow poplar). This wood is native to America and is considered very sustainable.

This flute is the ideal choice for beginners, as the length, finger hole size, body diameter and price are perfectly matched to new players. This makes it an excellent flute for anyone who is just starting to play.

The characteristics of the flute help beginners to experience the learning process with ease and enjoyment, while developing the basic skills needed later for larger and deeper sounding flutes.

This flute is tuned to A minor. It can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale of C major and harmonizes beautifully with all our other flutes in the key of A minor.
Its length is 17.6 inches (44.45 cm).

This is a six-hole flute. We automatically include a leather hole cover with this flute, which can be placed on the third hole from the top, as shown in the product pictures.

If this third hole is covered from above, the flute is easier to learn. The leather cover can be easily loosened and removed, giving the player the choice of playing the instrument either as a five-hole or six-hole flute.
