The harmony tambourine originally comes from France. There it was used in the Middle Ages as an accompanying instrument, similar to a dulcimer or a chord zither. Three strings each form a chord that can be struck with a mallet, a plectrum or the fingertips.
The harmony tambourine is ideal for all people who like to sing, but have so far lacked a simple accompanying instrument.
The Harmonie Tambourine impresses with its enormous richness of sound and extremely simple playing style. It is both a plucked and percussion instrument. No matter how it is played, it always produces a deep, warm and enveloping sound.
Like all other Meerklang instruments, the harmonic tambourine can also be combined very well with classical instruments.
The Harmonie Tambourine is very well suited for chordal accompaniment of songs, similar to the guitar. However, it is much easier to play as the chords are only struck and you don't have to finger them
