Koshi Forest – Earth Symphony

The Koshi Forest is part of the Earth Symphony, inspired by nature’s vast landscapes: mountains, forests, rivers, and oceans. At 440 Hz , Forest unfolds a deep, mysterious, and contemplative sound reminiscent of the atmosphere of a living forest.

Sound & Melody

"Forest" is in F-sharp minor (F# minor) and consists of twelve hand-tuned steel strings. Four of them serve as sympathetic resonators and provide additional depth and a long, rich resonance.

Sound Character

Forest has a deep, calm, and mysterious sound. The melody evokes the stillness and vitality of a forest. The twelve strings extend the resonance and create a particularly rich, warm tone.

Application

The koshi is held by the string and made to ring by gently turning or swinging it. It can also be hung freely and allowed to sway in the wind.

Ideal for meditation, sound therapy, sound yoga or as a complement to singing bowls, gongs, and other harmonic instruments.

Handcrafted in the Pyrenees

Each Koshi Forest is handcrafted and tuned at the foot of the French Pyrenees. Twelve steel strings are soldered with silver to a metal base and individually tuned to their optimal pitch. The soundbox is made of oak resonating body amplifies the vibrations and produces a clear, warm, and long-lasting sound.
