Koshi River – Earth Symphony

The Koshi River is part of the Earth Symphony, inspired by nature’s vast landscapes: mountains, forests, rivers, and oceans. Tuned to 440 Hz , River unfolds a flowing, clear, and positive sound reminiscent of the movement and constant change of a river.

Sound & Melody

River is in G-sharp minor (G# minor) and consists of twelve hand-tuned steel strings. Four of them serve as sympathetic resonators and provide additional depth and a long, rich resonance.

Sound Character

River has a flowing, light, and positive sound. The melody can be likened to movement, change, and the constant flow of life . The twelve strings extend the resonance and give the instrument a rich, expansive, and smooth tone.

Application

The koshi is held by the string and made to ring by gently turning or swinging it. It can also be hung freely and allowed to sway in the wind.

Ideal for meditation, sound therapy, sound yoga or as a complement to singing bowls, gongs, and other harmonic instruments.

Handcrafted in the Pyrenees

Each Koshi River is handcrafted and tuned at the foot of the French Pyrenees. Twelve steel strings are soldered with silver onto a metal base and individually tuned to their optimal pitch. The soundbox is made of cherry wood resonance chamber amplifies the vibrations and produces a clear, warm, and long-lasting sound.
