Manjiras / Kartals

Manjiras (also known as kartals ) are small, hand-held cymbals made of metal that are played in pairs. They produce a bright, ringing sound and are mainly used for rhythmic accompaniment in Indian spiritual music, especially in bhakti yoga and kirtans. Manjiras are light, portable and are often used in temples and religious ceremonies.
