The Medieval/ Medieval Drum 13" x 13" is a drum in the traditional medieval style. Its body and the two natural goatskin heads produce a lively sound with a characteristic rumbling effect.
The two eardrums are traditionally held in place by a rope tension . The top head features a snare wire that, when played, produces a subtle rattling and vibration . This creates the typical, distinctive sound of a historic marching and signal drum.
With a diameter of 13 inches (approx. 33 cm) and a height of 13 inches (approx. 33 cm) , the drum is particularly well-suited for medieval music, historical reenactments, parades, processions, and ensembles, as well as for modern percussion music.
The drum can be hung using the included brass hook to a belt or carrying strap and carried while playing. A pair of drumsticks is also included.
Special Features:
The design is based on traditional military drums, which were used, among other things, to set the marching rhythm and convey signals. Drums of this type were also played in conjunction with a pipe—a combination that allowed a single musician to play both melody and rhythm at the same time.
