The Medieval Drum 13" x 19" is an impressive drum in a historic medieval style. Its cylindrical body and two natural goat-skin heads produce a powerful, lively sound with a characteristic rumbling effect.
The two eardrums are traditionally connected by a rope tension . The top head has a snare wire that, when played, produces a subtle rattling and vibration . This produces the typical, distinctive sound of a historic marching and signal drum.
With a diameter of 13 inches (approx. 33 cm) and a height of 19 inches (approx. 48 cm) , the drum is particularly well-suited for medieval music, historical reenactments, parades, processions, and ensembles, as well as for modern percussion music.
The drum can be hung using the included brass hook to easily attach it to a belt or carrying strap and carry it while playing. A pair of drumsticks is also included.
Special Features:
The design is based on traditional military drums, which were used, among other things, to set marching rhythms and convey signals. Drums of this type were also played in conjunction with a pipe—a combination that allowed a single musician to play both melody and rhythm at the same time.
