The 27 notes from F to G span 2 octaves plus 2 semitones, covering the range of common mantras and kirtans. Two high-quality reeds per key ensure a responsive touch and a warm, full sound. The two registers can be played individually or together, allowing for flexible sound shaping.

Typical of Paloma are the silky-matte, pleasantly grippy surfacesthat allow the natural grain of the teak to remain visible. The solid teak body and the sturdy beech wood key mechanism make the instrument exceptionally durable. The precise craftsmanship ensures a smooth-action keyboard and reliable, long-lasting airtightness of the air chambers.

Thanks to its compact design, the Companion Teak has a relatively short bellows stroke. To produce a consistently long and sustained tone, therefore, it takes some skill and practice in handling the bellows—especially when playing chords. However, once you’re familiar with how to operate the bellows, you can play with great expression and dynamics.
