RAV Anima – Chord Handpan in Indigo

The RAV Anima is an innovative instrument from the RAV family that combines five key chords with a harmonically balanced melodic scale. At its core are the five chords F major, G major, A minor, C major, and D minor —some of the most commonly used chords in modern music. When one of the central tongues is plucked, the entire chord sounds.

Surrounding the central chords are nine additional tongues that are tuned to the Celtic minor scale . All the notes harmonize with each other, so you can improvise freely without producing any discordant notes. Slow chord changes create an atmospheric harmonic foundation over which you can play simple or complex melodies.

The RAV Anima thus opens up a whole new way of playing and, thanks to its chord concept, can be played almost like a guitar—though more like a guitar from another world.
