A variety of sounds thanks to innovative construction

The Sela Ocean Drums are available in five sizes and combine traditional craftsmanship with clever design. The round frame is made of sturdy beech wood and - unlike many frame drums - is covered on both sides: one side with a natural skin, the other with a synthetic skin. Inside, countless small metal and plastic balls roll over the heads, creating the characteristic noise of undulations.

A closable opening in the frame allows the number of balls to be individually adjusted. This allows the volume and sound characteristics of the drum to be flexibly adjusted - from a gentle whisper to a powerful thunder.

Easy to play, endless possibilities

The Ocean Drum is held by the frame and gently tilted, rolled or shaken. Even the slightest movements transform into calming ocean sounds, while more energetic playing styles create intense waves and ripples.

But it can do even more: played with the hands like a drum or supplemented with mallets and brushes, it opens up a broad spectrum of sounds that inspires both beginners and professionals.
